„Das größte Problem, das die Kunst heutzutage hat, ist, dass sie nicht mehr weh tut“, behauptet Sebastian „Sushi“ Biesler, Fronter der Gelsenkirchener Metalcorer GHØSTKID.
Mit ihrem neuen Release „Hollywood Suicide“ wollen sie provozieren und polarisieren. Der bezeichnende, tiefgehende Gothic-Nu-Metalcore, mit dem sie ihrem Sänger zufolge Kunst kreieren und Grenzen überschreiten wollen, ist inhaltlich gewagt und faszinierend zugleich. „Hollywood Suicide“ ist eine bitterböse Sammlung von Tracks, deren kalifornische Prägung sich nicht nur im Albumtitel, sondern auch im vom US-amerikanischen Underground inspirierten Sound wiederfindet. Aber nicht nur das: Im Vergleich zum letzten Album sind GHØSTKID insgesamt morbider und perfider unterwegs. War der selbstbetitelte Vorgänger aus dem Jahr 2020 noch eine Art „Freischwimmer“ für Biesler, ist „Hollywood Suicide“ die Manifestation des Ganzen.
